ELEVATE YOUR WELL-BEING THIS SPRING

Posted by Ashleigh Muir on

Formulated to influence your emotions, mood, or cognitive state, functional fragrances are quickly gaining in popularity as their benefits become more widely accepted and recognised.

Combining the power of scent with selected active ingredients to elicit specific psychological and physical effects can have a profoundly positive effect on your personal well-being - which is why this spring, we have decided to launch our very first functional fragrance - Chamomile Calm.

But how does it all work?

At the core of functional fragrances lies the intriguing science of aromatherapy - the practice of using natural plant extracts and fragrances to enhance psychological and physical well-being. Each fragrance oil carries a unique combination of aromatic compounds that can influence our mood through our olfactory system—the pathway that connects our sense of smell to the brain.

We've created Chamomile Calm as an invitation to relax and repose. Each and every fragrance note of this grounding blend has been carefully selected for their individual benefits. With a base of Roman chamomile, soft sage and sandalwood, your senses are balanced with the meditative notes of lavender and bright, sweet orange.

Chamomile

Chamomile is widely recognised for its calming and relaxing effects. It can help calm the nervous system, as well as reduce heart rate and blood pressure - it's the perfect base for our candle of relaxation!

Sage

Slightly minty with an earthy tone, sage has a warmth and herbaceousness that is aromatically grounding and purifying. The scent of sage oil has been said to cerebrally stimulate and balance the mind and emotional body.

Sandalwood

Sandalwood's sweet, soft scent induces relaxation and calmness, and promotes positive thinking, clarity and aids concentration. Many people believe it can also help boost memory, but this isn't yet scientifically proven.

Lavender

Studies have found that lavender aromas help to improve sleep quality, ease depressive moods, and lower stress levels. Other studies have even shown that lavender could also possibly help to relieve mild pain.

Orange

Cheerful and uplifting yet simultaneously relaxing, sweet orange has a calming effect that helps reduce pulse rate. It can also stimulate the strength and resilience of the immune system and eliminate airborne bacteria - just what you need when spring cleaning your home, as well as your mind, body and soul.

 Candles on benchtop

For the ultimate blissed-out experience this spring, we recommend pairing your moments of self care and relaxation with our Chamomile Calm candle, and the Eve Wellness Chill Pills.

Made from high-quality and high-strength Kava from the island of Vanuatu, it has been used in the Pacific for many years for its powerful qualities - and today the herb is most well known for its calming and anxiety-support properties.
